About World Championships
Can supporters watch pool and marine events on-site?
Pool events can be watched freely by the public supporters without an admission fee.
Ocean events cannot be watched from the shore, but if you wish to get a closer view of the competition, consider joining the viewing tour! See details.

Yes, we plan to have DVD of WC on sale.
For athletes : about entry and competition
When does the entry start?
Entry has been opened since 30th March and will be closed on 30th May. 1st Period of Entries will be closed on 15th May, 2010. After this period, the entry fee will rise to $690.
All entries must be completed by the end of 30th May (Japan time).
What is included in the entry fee of $650($690)?
The entry fee includes: admission to the opening and the closing ceremonies (if you will be staying at the official hotel), official practice, championship entry, doping test, shuttle bus services between the airport and the hotel, also the hotel and the competition site.. It does not include accomodation fee. You need to make a booking of the official hotel by yourself via the official website.
What is included in the accommodation fee of the official hotel?
The room rate includes two JPY1,000 meal vouchers per person per night. You can use unlimited numbers of vouchers at the restaurants of the hotel anytime you wish. (e.g. If you are staying in a 4 bedded room for 10 days, you pay JPY4,000 x 10 (days) = JPY40,000. You will receive JPY1,000 x 2 x 10(days) = JPY20,000 meal vouchers.)
Would there be an admission charge for the opening and the closing ceremony?
It depends on where you will be staying during the competition. If you will be staying at the official hotel, no fee will be charged.If you are NOT staying at the official hotel, opening and closing ceremonies are subject to fees. The cost will be JPY3,000 for the opening ceremony, and JPY4,000 for the closing ceremony.

Can freedivers practice at site before WC? Would it cost?
Yes, freedivers can practice at the site before the opening of WC. The cost is JPY5,000/person for ocean events, and JPY240/person for pool events. Please refer to info@aida2010.net for more information.
How should I arrange my payment for the entry fee?
Please make your payment by Paypal or direct bank transfer. Please refer to the Entry Page for more details.
Is it possible for freedivers to attempt a world record after the WC?
At the moment, there is no plan for holding any attempt after the WC.
How many non-athletes (coaches, captains, medias) can accompany a group of athletes? Would there be a registration fee for those non-athletes?
Up to two coaches and reserve players each can be registered. Entry fee for coaches and reserve athletes is US$500.
I am not a member of official media, but would like to take photos/videos of the competition to publish in a website/newspaper/magazine etc. Is there any media fees that I need to pay?
If you will be taking photos/videos in ocean events, the media fee will be JPY10,000/day/person. The fee can be paid during the competition at the site, so there is no need to make an in-advance payment. Pleaselet us know if you are planning to take photos/videos in ocean events;info@aida2010.net
There will be no media fees for pool events. You can take photos/videos freely as long as it is not disturbing the athletes.
Is there any restriction on sponsorship? Can sponsors' logos be on wetsuit etc.?
There will be no restriction on sponsorship of athletes. Sponsors' logos can be displayed on athletes'equipments
Is there a list of drugs to check potential risk of failing a doping test?

Would there be a prize?
Yes, prizes will be given to the first, second, and the third male and female teams.
What are the size, water temperature, and the number of lanes of the pool?

How can hotel bookings be made?
Hotel can be booked from the official website.You can choose the special rate for freedivers.(Rate Code:PROM10)
Is discount rate available for a long stay?
The hotel prices shown on the website are the special rate for WC. These prices will be applied to all bookings by the athletes regardless of the length of stay.
Do you have more accommodation options at cheaper rates?
We cannot arrange accommodation for you if you will not stay at the official hotel. Please find and arrange accommodation by yourself if you need to book somewhere else.
I cannot speak Japanese. How can I travel from the airport to the hotel by myself?
Shuttle bus service is available from the airport for free of charge. But advanced booking is essential for this bus service. Please find more information from the entry page.
