High season of Okinawa starts around end of June, when Freediving World Championships is going to be held. Both air and water temperatures rise higher than those of the main-land Japan.
The climate creates perfect environment for the marine sports like diving. Local Freediving competition is usually held around this time.
Maeda Cape in Onna Village, where the championships is held, is one of the most popular diving spots as well as being famous for its beautiful Blue Cave.
Many other leisure and cultural spots are available around the City of Naha, where the venue for pool events and your accommodation are located.
You can also enjoy various eating and shopping experiences in this area. We hope you enjoy Okinawa!
